How often does it happen? What about getting it from a pharmacy prevents overdosing vs getting it OTC?

The problem with it not requiring a prescription is that people are going to self-medicate. The danger of taking too much comes into play. There’s also the frequency of use. The OP requires an extremely strong insulin. I take Lantus once a day although I do take 50 units. At one time I also took humalog which is a fast acting insulin. With that one you have to do a finger prick to test your level, then calculate how much to take based on your current level and what you’re about to eat. It sucks royally as you’re doing that 3-4 times a day plus taking a shot of a longer lasting insulin at night.

The OP needs badly to get out and walk several miles a day, manage his diet better and lose that 45 lbs. He’s a walking heart attack waiting to happen.
