You might notice on the graphic that the alternate tires are marked as green instead of the usual red color. Firestone has developed a soft alternate tire from "sustainable" materials, and it doesn't sound like they are doing very well. Some drivers are dealing with them better than others. These tires were used at Nashville last year without complaint I think. So maybe they're just doing worse on this surface.
