An opportunity to brag on my kids? I accept!
Son is in med school and intends to be a pediatric heart surgeon. Oldest daughter has been accepted into and will start masters program this fall to become a Speech Pathologist. Youngest daughter is freshman in college and intends to be an elementary school counselor. All are absolutely pursuing what it seems they were put on this earth to do. Not sure how much their mom and I have to do with their success, but I will say that we were very intentional about figuring out early what they were capable of achieving and then holding them to a very high standard that lined up with their academic abilities. Respect and concern for others was always demanded of our children by my wife and I, and we still demand it even today, although it’s never an issue.
When people ask how we ended up with 3 awesome kids, I thank them for the kind words and add that best I can tell, God felt really bad that my wife has to deal with me every day, so he gave her awesome kids to balance it out.
