The CO of the Navy Squadron I was assigned to was a POW in North Vietnam. He spent 2,435 days in captivity before being released with the others in Operation Homecoming. I transferred out shortly after he assumed command, so I didn't get to know him, but I was told he was a standup guy. He is buried at Arlington with honors due.

I love being involved with this group, they were a different breed, unfortunately their numbers are dwindling at much too rapid a pace
