Going in two weeks and I would love to hit up a place like in the movie “The Terminal” with Tom Hanks.
I’ve always been a jazz fan, and would love to check out a great jazz bar with some of the greats.

Blue Note and village Vanguard are the staples.

Dizzy's club in Columbus Circle is a great modern venue.

The music at Birdland is always terrific and its a good location if you're staying in midtown.

Smalls is a fun spot if you want that cramped, underground jazz speakeasy vibe.

Bathtub Gin.

Ok, not truly a jazz bar, but a great speak easy on the lower east side. At first look it is a coffee shop. At night you walk in and there is a patron all in black in the corner. They pop open a secret cabinet that opens up to the bar. You don't know if you are at the correct address because it does not say bathtub gin. You will just see a picture of a girl in a tub.

Went to a place like this in Cape Town but it was a pastry shop.

Didn't even light up the front. Some random homeless guy saw us thinking about it and he said, "you've got the right place."
