Many blacks are at home during the day and don't have cable TV. Blacks are probably a third of the OTA TV audience

Another perfect storm is theatrical films. Black people "open" -- that is, they make up a huge part of the opening weekend audience for a movie. As studios make most of their money in the first two weeks of a film's release (after that, their % of the BO take goes down) getting that audience is very important to them.
