Any innocent kid we can help break out of the cycle of violence and poverty caused by a culture that glorifies single motherhood and devalues education makes all the fighting worth it. Its not easy but it’s rewarding when you can make a difference in someone’s life. Maybe if we can reach enough kids a leader out of that culture can emerge to help fight it. Maybe a community pocket can begin to push back against the blight and violence plaguing their lives.
Unfortunately, the politicians leading the charge just talk with no real actions.
Programs like Son of a Saint are great starts. It's basically a Big Brother program for boys without fathers - specifically due to incarceration or death.
Things are bad. But we can either ignore the situation and let more kids fend for themselves (we know where that leads), or build up more programs to allow them to succeed. This isn't a problem you can imprison your way out of.

Get fricked. That place and those people are doomed. They don't want to effectuate change to make things better. They're just waiting on rubes like you to throw more money down the drain.
