It wasn't just the numbers that remained.
The violence they wrought caused middle class whites and blacks to flee key areas for the suburbs.
Tara High School was 70-30 white in 2000
98-2 black in 2010

I remember a slow trickle out of the public schools for a long time. Woodlawn, Belaire, Lee, Tara, Broadmoor all used to be decent public schools.
Didn't they redraw the map for Tara? That's the most funky school district in the parish IIRC.
