Your library probably has children's books in Spanish. Going back in the day, I knew army brats who read comic books until the local lingo started making sense to them.

My wife and kids speak Spanish, and I learned a ton just from reading kids books to my kids when they were babies. My ability to read Spanish and basic vocabulary is respectable at this point.
Have been intending to get a language program to try and become more conversant. Would be genuinely curious which program people like.
