There are many reasons people engage in homosexuality. Every other opinion is nonsense. I know two women who became lesbians after horrible abusive marriages. Both have kids. Knew another kid growing who we all knew would smoke pole when he was older and sure enough is a homo. He has two brothers both are straight as arrow. I’m sure these kids today on social media think it’s cool to be a ghey so they convince themselves they are and get the attention they are looking for.

Homosexuality is a multifactorial and remarkably poorly understood phenomenon.

As we've observed virtually no female genetic proclivity, we've searched for X-recessive or Y-chromosomal associations. There is significant political interest in finding a "gay gene." So much so that, as with AGW, politics influences funding, and funding influences the science. Despite reports to the contrary, scientific claims of strong genetic ties still range from marginal to dubious.

We do know genetics contribute to multiple behaviors. Sexuality is certainly one of them. But variant social expressions of those are extremely important, even dominant.

e.g., Homosexual activity is nearly nonexistent in certain homomisic Middle Eastern, African and Asian cultures. Conversely, it occurs at an 80-90% rate among long-term male inmates in US prisons. So regardless of genetics, psychological phenotypic expression is highly variable.
