My dad was 41 and 45 when my brother and I were born. I had 3 kids of my own at 32, 34, and 36.

He looked a lot younger at 40 than I did

FWIW a lot of the parents at my kids school had their first in their 40s. It’s a pretty affluent school and all the kids seem pretty well adjusted. I think you can bring a lot of wisdom to fatherhood later in life.

While I definitely didn't have as much wisdom being much younger than the average, things are fine and kids are doing well. I am excited that the youngest will turn 18 and be off to college the year I turn 40. At this point, I couldn't imagine having more kids at or close to 40.
