Induction cooktops have solid performance. The caveat is that not all cookware works on them.

Induction stoves are actually very good. Heat up and control heat better than gas or electric ranges. And clean up easily like electric.
But do have their drawbacks. One being they are still expensive/less widely available, and the other being certain types of cooking, like wok cooking, is not ideal due to the lack of getting that wok hei from heat traveling up the side of the wok. Also because it works on electromagnetism, aluminum and copper pans wont work.
