And our grid is mostly based on fossil fuel power plants plus the toxic shite in the batteries so the saving the planet argument is dumb
get back to me when our grid is 90% nuclear and we are better at recycling batteries

And most commutes and driving is not currently done for hours at a time requiring multiple stoppages for recharging. You can't look at savings and efficiency for the masses if all you want to consider are the extremes

I'd venture to guess, over a year period, the vast majority spend more time waiting to fill up at a gas station than electric car owners wait for their cars to charge.
