Dale Brown is the most accomplished, and longest-tenured basketball coach in LSU history. That’s a fact. Another fact is that LSU’s basketball history is decidedly mediocre. At LSU, Brown stands out as head and shoulders above the rest of our mediocre coaches. We shouldn’t be naming floors for mediocre coaches, even if they were the best we’ve had so far.

Our fan base and administration are way, way too eager to retire numbers, commission statues, and name floors.

Three coaches changed LSU sports history....Nick Saban, Skip Bertman,and Dale Durwood Brown. Wise up folks.

That, in fact, would be Harry Rabenhorst with 27 season. 1925-26 to 1941-42 and 1945-46 to 1956-1957, he missed 3 seasons to serve in WW2. Final 4 and sweet 16 in 52-53 & 53-54. Dale coached for 24 seasons.
