He has shown times of greatness sometimes and flashbacks of a more awful Jamie Howard at other times. At times, he can make great passes (TD pass to Byrd during the Alabama game) and he can also make awful passes (any of the numerous overthrown, in the dirt, behind the reciever, etc..). He also doesn't show ANY confidence whatsoever. He looks afraid to take a hit..he shows no emotion at all. Does he have what it takes to play at this level?

This is just a personal opinion of mine, but he almost seems like he just does not care. After your 100th pick 6th, throw your helmet down on the sideline, scream or cuss at yourself. DO SOMETHING! Don't just trot off the field like no big deal.

Does Lee have "it?" I'm not so sure anymore....

He cares, there's no question that he cares. He clearly feels a lot of pressure on him and his post-game comments make him sound demoralized.

i agree. you can only botch a screen pass so many times or force a throw. some people have it and some don't and it doesn't matter how physically gifted you are.
i don't think you can coach vision. just like a running back who can run a 4.3 but doesn't have field vision or a WR who can run a 4.2 but can't run a route or find space.

The issue for him, it seems to me, is whether he can slow the game down. He has excellent physical tools. He rushes throws and he tries to force throws in wituations where, like it or not, you're better off eating the ball, or getting a couple of yards on a scramble, and letting your defense get the ball back for you after a punt to maintain field position. It's his decision-making that isn't there yet, and that develops, if at all, only with experience. Despite some mistakes, I thought he did this better Saturday than he had done against other quality competition. In a game like that, the mistakes sill stand out. The overthrow instead of running for the 1st down. The attempt to throw when the defender was already draped across his head and shoulders. The throw into double coverage in OT. All mental errors that are coachable and correctable with experience. His arm is first rate. Will his head catch up? I think so, but I tend to be an optimist.

fixed it

i too, would like to see more emotion and more fire...Tebow, after losing to Ole Miss, says you will never see any team or individual work as hard as he will the rest of the season..now, thats confidence and leadership!! Lee is no Tebow, but it doesn't take much to show some heart and willingness to improve.

This is the one that gets me.

That is pure instinct. I don't think you can "learn" to go for the first down in that situation. You either know it in your bones or you don't belong on a football field.

That showed either total obliviousness to football in general or cowardice. Don't know which is worse.

And how did you arrive at this idea?
This is an honest ? What have you seen that would lead you to believe that this kid will be anything other than mediocre? Please, don't just say you have a gut feeling or something like that. What tangible evidence has he shown that would give the impression he will be good at all?

there is a big difference between tebow and lee at this point to make that kind of comparison when it comes to leadership like that.

What gets me about that is that he lofted it over Keiland and just out of the reach of the Alabama defender. It was pitiful.

He's got some moxie. He's shown he can make all the throws you'd want. He's got a good coach to develop him. He'll be ok.

Someone just needs to mention to him a few times that sometimes it is ok to run the ball, sometimes it is ok to take a sack in lieu of throwing a ball into traffic, and that no one will give him too much shite for just throwing the ball 40 yards out of bounds. Not every throw needs to be perfect.

Outside of this, someone needs to mention to the WR's that they need to catch the balls that are perfectly thrown.

Receivers miss catches...

Crowton calls the wrong play...

Lee throws into too much coverage...

Linemen do not pick up blitz...

He has it. It just needs fine tuning.......
