Jackson will never be like Atlanta. Atlanta has jobs, jobs, jobs...and ones that pay really well too. Jackson has...well, it's Jackson. As the previous poster said, it's bleeding population. Folks leaving are the ones with options. The ones staying are parasites.
My kid is getting lots of stuff in the mail about college. He gets something in the mail from Belhaven University (it's in Jackson). It says basically "hey, kids, good news, the water is turned back on and it seems like it shouldn't happen again!" I mean, seriously, when your city's universities have to mention how the water is back on as a selling point then you know your city is one step from the grave.
