You wanting to teach the kids 20% less is the parents' problem?

They'll likely adjust the schedule where they still get the same number of instructional days/minutes. States have a minimum number of days/minutes they have to attend. So your kid isn't missing any instruction. It's simply structured differently.

I need to step up for you to get an extra day not doing the job you signed up for? I work with my kids every day. GTFO with that bullshite.

They're still doing the job that has been asked of them. But instead of it being extra service pay, it'll be embedded in a work day. It will also save districts money in transportation costs. They're literally saving tax payers money.

I don't have words for this.

I'm not sure why you don't unless you just don't understand how things work (certainly possible given how quick you are to jump to conclusions).

In most districts and in schools with students who need extra assistance, there is an ESS budget (extra service) where teachers are paid over and above their salary to stay after school with students who need academic assistance. Some districts will even utilize funds for an activity bus to transport those kids if they can't get a ride.

If they utilize that on the non-instructional day (and most districts that do this do) they save money in not having to pay those teachers extra pay because it's during a contract day AND they save money in transportation for students who don't need extra assistance.

So simple that yall get more time off Why not just do 3 12 hour day? Not like the kids retaining any of the information matters. Just cram it all in.

This is correct and the reason why they will go to school 5 days a week for the first 6 weeks
