Teachers aren't getting the day off. They're still coming in to work on the 5th day. Likely doing intervention work, planning, etc.

Like I said, parents are welcome to step up and parent. Be resilient.

No thanks. You can do the job you're supposed to be doing. Or you can have you budgets and compensation adjusted.

Not all of them have to come in every off day - they rotate and its only for a few hours
