thanks man, apprecaite some guidance. Both of them look good and Italy would be a first for both of us as well. I have been to London and Paris, but not Netherlands. Either way, I'd still see some new places

Italy is wonderful. Florence is one of my favorite cities on earth and is a total must imo.
Italy also has a LOT to do so figure out what you want to do and narrow that down too. A lot of people do the Rome-Florence-Venice thing the first time, with one side few days like Cinque Terre or sienna or Modena etc.
Some do South and go to Amalfi etc.
Just figure out what you want. Italy is great.
