Building an AR-10 isn’t as straight forward as an AR-15. You have to make sure the components are compatible more than with AR-15.
Like I said, we put a cheap BCA upper on a BCA lower. One reason I did that was to be sure everything fit itself.
There isn't just the DPMS vs Armalite issue, (most platforms are DPMS), there are different generations of DPMS.
There seems to be some subtle differences between the different styles, and I've seen reviews and online posts about things being loose or slightly out of alignment between brands.
Particularly relevant for the budget buyers, there seems to be some slop when pairing a BCA upper onto a PSA lower.
What I have come across, the BCA upper fits great with Aero, and also a brand called Noreen. The PSA is more "stick with PSA uppers".
So- I went with BCA, as the upper was by far the least costly, and I should be able to upgrade with Aero if I want. I also like that BCA makes side-chargers, I don't have it in 308 but have a couple in the AR 15 styles.
I am not pushing BCA for anyone, but if you're thinking about a build, or plan to use multiple uppers/calibers, dig around to make sure things fit. If BCA and Aero are compatible but BCA and PSA have slop, stands to reason Aero and PSA also have slop.

I have not handled a BCA Upper on a PSA Lower to compare, but I did have a BCA Upper on an Aero Lower. There was a little slop but not bad for a $550-$650 pile of parts (purchased everything in November on sale).
In January I stumbled across a Aero M5 Stripped Upper on sale ($95-ish). That mitigated the slop but using the BCA handguard I noticed the profile difference.
So now shopping for a new handguard but out of boredom, also looking for a new 18"-20" barrel.
Also now have a stripped BCA Upper laying around if anyone was starting a project. (will have the BCA barrel and handguard back on it when I purchase new ones)
