265 lbs.: UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture (16-8) vs. Brock Lesnar (2-1) Brock by decision IMO

Main card (Televised):

155 lbs.: Kenny Florian (10-3) vs. Joe Stevenson (29-8) KenFlo by TKO in the second
185 lbs.: Amir Sadollah (1-0) vs. Nick Catone (5-0) - Don't know who Catone is, but I'm guessing he is a set up guy for Amir. Amir by TKO in the Third round
265 lbs.: Gabriel Gonzaga (9-3) vs. Josh Hendricks (14-4) - Don't know much about Hendricks. Gotta think Gonzaga gets back on track at some point. Gonzaga by submission in the second
185 lbs.: Demian Maia (8-0) vs. Nate Quarry (10-2)
This is actually a pretty good match up IMO. I like Maia. that is all.

Under card (May not be broadcast):

170 lbs.: Dustin Hazelett (11-4) vs. Tamdan McCrory (9–1)
155 lbs.: Jorge Gurgel (12-4) vs. Aaron Riley (26-10-1)
155 lbs.: Jeremy Stephens (13-3) vs. Rafael dos Anjos (11-2)
155 lbs.: Alvin Robinson (9–3) vs. Mark Bocek (5-2) (hope they show this one) I've got Alvin
170 lbs.: Matt Brown (7-7) vs. Ryan Thomas (9-2)

Do we have an Admin that follows MMA yet? Surely we can get the prediction thread stickied at some damn point?

My head says Brock Lesnar, especially at first glance. The more I think about it, though, the more I think Couture's MMA IQ and experience will somehow prevail.

Florian beats Stevenson.

Don't know or care about the rest

I hope so man. Couture becomes MMA's Muhammed Ali if he wins this weekend IMO.

I don't know what I want to happen. I think the best thing that can come out of it for the sport is a dominating Lesnar win. Couture is very near the end of his career. If he wins this, he probably fights the winner of Mir/Nogiera then maybe Fedor. After getting smashed by Fedor, he retires.

If Lesnar wins and progresses over the next couple years, I could see a few super fights with Fedor (assuming he doesn't get destroyed too bad in the first fight). Lesnar is clearly the future of the heavies in the UFC.

Fedor would not smash Brock IMO. He might slap a quick sub on Brock, but he wouldn't do what he did to Timmay. Imagine if Couture finished his career off with wins over Lesnar, Nog, and then Fedor? I know it probably won't happen, but there isn't anyone else in the history of the sport that has fought such a high % of huge fights as Randy has.

I think he would. If there was no ref and Fedor wanted to, he could kill Lesnar in under 2 minutes. Brock is way too green for that guy.

I just don't consider a sub killing someone, unless they were smashing them in the standup leading up to that. By the time they fought, Lesnar would have at least 8 or 9 UFC fights under his belt.

You are thinking I used "kill" as a figure of speech. I meant Lesnar would be lifeless in less than 2 minutes if that was the object of the fight.

In an MMA fight, the best Lesnar could hope for is to take Fedor down, at which point he would give the ruskie his choice of limbs to snap off. He would be brutally beaten in a kickboxing match.

I think Kenny and Joe will be a great fight. It's the only one I'm really interested in on this card.
