Club Champion thoughts? Driver fitting

I have never been fitted before, and would like to get fitted for and purchase a new driver.
My options are going with club champion, or doing some googling and finding a local fitter (Richmond, VA) that I would know little to nothing about.
Has anyone had a positive or negative experience with club champion? Quality of fitting and equipment is more important to me than price.
FWIW, I would be looking to get fitted in the next 3-4 weeks, and would like the driver available for a buddies trip to Pinehurst in mid-April. Im an 18 HCP, if that matters for the answers.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

Club champion is going to be very expensive bc you pay msrp for the driver plus the upgraded shaft they will probably fit you in. At an 18 handicap, you may not be consistent enough to justify that price. Plus they do not waive the fitting fee.
I would personally go get fit and get my numbers and what the fitter recommends then go on ebay and maybe get a previous model head and shaft. Do a little research on fittings before you go to understand the trackman numbers and and ask why he is choosing what head/shaft. And since you are still paying the fitting fee for their time, dont feel bad about not buying.
Youd probably do better going to a golf galaxy or pga superstore and getting a free fitting with stock shafts at your level. There are some good stock offerings now with the major brands

try it out but like others have stated it will be quite expensive. Might be worth it just to experience a high end fitting session. Seeing all the various shaft offerings is great and be sure to bring an old driver to compare

It’s expensive but Ben is the best fitter in the state and it’s not close!

Do the fitting then go take your numbers, decide what you want, and have a wholesaler built it.

It's really amazing the Club Champion is still in business with the way they rob people.
Most golf companies do their own fitings are local courses.
Find the club that you like to look at and schedule a fitting.
