My father made a good living but he always drove older vehicles and we lived in a house well below what we could afford. I never understood it when I was younger but I do now. He retired in his mid 50s, never really gave a shite about material possessions, was always able to help one of his kids when we needed it.

It's a good way to live and something that's much more appealing to me now.
