Every player constantly talks about career concussion numbers after they retire, we have a growing societal problem with mental illness, and the world is monetizing this sport and pushing children into as careers. The entire world witnessed this Hamlin incident and they still love the game? I just don’t get it and I can’t support kids playing football ever. The sport needs to simmer away and people should focus on pushing education onto kids, not a violent sport. Downvote away, the truth is the truth.

What’s changed in society is that a majority of people have come to believe that safety and preserving life (of any individual) is more important than how you live. They have become alienated from meaning outside of themselves.

The reason I added “of any individual”, is that when it comes to anonymous groups of people, everyone has gotten more callous. In fact, many people casually talk about needing to reduce the number of people in the world to a fraction of its current level to “save the planet”.
