“Best” is so subjective. I like using this Golden Era of animation as the yardstick. The Warner Bros are up there, but the groundwork was laid for the TV animation of the 60s. I’d say Rocky & Bullwinkle would be my “best”. It parodied the Cold War, it ran in prime time so it really pioneered having adult themes mixed in with the kid humor. It was really edgy for the early 60s.

Those writers seemed to know a lot more than they should...

(The "Upsid-daysium" secret invention theme of floating mountains and buildings freaked me out a bit.)

I'd go with Bugs Bunny overall best cartoon and character and Rocky and Bullwinkle for best dialogue - it is underappreciated.

For a short while I thought Roadrunner was the best but it didn't have the staying power of Bugs, just too limited in what they could do.
