He clearly coached his arse off last night and had his guys prepared.
National commentators were predicting a blowout, and UGA cheated death and got lucky. Day’s play calling wasn’t ideal that last drive, but he coached a very good game.

I don’t see anything wrong with running it once and throwing a screen and slant. I know that he ran over to someone to make an adjustment on the signal for the screen play . Not sure if it was relayed to the qb or not though
