It sounds a lot like you're saying that 80s kids are nostalgic for the 1940s. Is that what you're saying?
I always saw my generation's(X) love of things like The Three Stooges, Little Rascals, Tom & Jerry, Looney Toons, etc as an ability to appreciate things that came before our time...unlike today's generation, a lot of which won't even watch a movie from the 90s.
