We were there last year the week before Labor Day.
We loved it as a smaller, more countryfied version of Napa Valley.

We went to a bunch of wineries including the following-

Daou was our favorite. Fantastic wines in a gorgeous
setting. It is on top of a small mountain overlooking the vineyards. We spent the whole afternoon there one day. You need reservations well in advance. If you join their wine club (we did) you get the tasting for free as well as discounts on wine and extra perks.

Our second favorite was Calcareous. Smaller place but the wines are excellent and the people are friendly. We had lunch there.

Justin has a nice tasting room with patio seating in the gardens.

On the road to Cambria and the coast are two very good wineries right across the street from each other - Donati and Turley. Niner is also down the street.

Paso Robles restaurants -

BL Brasserie (French)
La Cosecha
Il Cortile
Buona Tavola (Italian)

Tow good casual hangouts are -
Taste Tapas Bar, and the Rooftop Wine Bar at the Piccolo Hotel.

Great restaurant town. There may only be a dozen or so of them to choose from, but that is all you need.
All of these places are on the Town Square or within a block or two of it.
