Yesterday I launched at island marina and crossed lake catherine, lake borne and back again. Never once saw serious diving birds.
It was pretty disheartening, actually, to cover that much water and see almost no life.
Didn't really get on anything until I went into the biloxi marsh where I caught 4 reds and two trout on a gold spoon.
