I think what has happened is many on the right saw this story as their “October surprise” and the story would torpedo Biden’s campaign. Was there impropriety there? Absolutely. Were there dubious circumstances for the source of the laptop? Yes, which is why all the major news outlets declined to run with it. So now 2 years later the story has shifted to the apparent cover up of the story, and Twitter’s involvement with that.

I don’t think it’s a nothing burger, but I remain somewhat skeptical on it being a bombshell. I’ll wait and see what else Elon and Taibbi release, and maybe Jim Jordan can take his clown shoes off long enough to conduct a legitimate investigation.
