Have you noticed how different the offenses are that LSU is facing in 2008 than the ones it faced in 2003? I agree the basics of the formula you mention are good regardless, but LSU can't play the same style it played in 2003 against these offenses -- not without NFL talent, and maybe not even with NFL talent.

That D could still play well today. Remember Gay could come in at nickel back, and Alexander was a converted safety so you probably didn't lose a lot against a spread look (can't remember who the dime was). And they all were pretty disciplined in their assignments and tackled really well. That D could probably adapt to anything.
