Always had this game but never bothered playing the campaign. Found it boring until the last 4-5 missions. What a mindfrick.
After reading through some stuff it’s insane how much detail they put into the storyline. I still don’t get it 100% but I gotta give them credit for it. Never played a COD campaign like that.

I was always confused why they didn’t just go with a different tagline for that game.
Black ops was more of a retro 60s-80s espionage vibe. The tone of blops 3 and 4 were totally different. It’s not like they needed to worry about name recognition.
That said, the premise of being beaten to death in the first mission and the rest of the game effectively being a fever dream was definitely a departure from the usual cod formula.
