In chicago for two nights. Staying in the Grant park area. Looking for recommendations for a couple good meals and spots to grab a pint or two. Something other than chicago style pizza

Monteverde for Italian. It’s amazing.
Girl and the Goat.
Also a cool little blues club near Girl and the Goat if I recall correctly.

I second G&tG. I think they open around 4:30. If you have the time, plan to get there 20-30 minutes before open to snag a bar seat. Otherwise, the wait can get pretty long.

There are too many neighborhood/restaurants to name, but here are a few options in some neighborhoods around the north side...
West Loop - Girl and The Goat, Rose Mary, Swift & Sons, High Five Ramen, The Loyalist, Timeout Market
River North - Tzuco, Bavette's, Ema
River West / West Town - La Scarola, Piccolo Sogno, Vajra
Logan Square / Avondale - Union, Gretel, Giant, Mi Tocaya Antojeria, Andros Taverna, Longman & Eagle, Parachute
Bucktown / Wicker - etta, Amaru, Club Lucky, The Bristol
Lincoln Park - Galit, Armitage Alehouse, Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, GEMINI
Lincoln Square - The Warbler / Gather, Bistro Campagne
For beer, you could go to Haymarket or Cruz Blanca in West Loop. If you'd prefer to stay in/near The Loop, maybe walk or take Lyft/Uber to Franklin Tap. They have a good IPA can selection (i.e. Hop Butcher and Phase Three). Usually my go-to when I'm at the office on Thursday. Centennial in River North has a fantastic selection. There are also plenty of breweries and craft beer bars further north, if you're open to moving around.

Go to the Italian area near Wrigley, go to a hole in the Italian restaurant. Real deal stuff.

OP should search for the most recent Chicago restaurants thread and bump that. I think Hoops put in some long posts in there along with others. Not much on the restaurant scene has changed since that thread.

What is this Italian area near Wrigley you speak of? Little Italy is nowhere near Wrigley.
