To be fair pedophilia is now a major platform of one of the political parties that wants private sex time with 5 year olds as an example.

Some fringe people used to commit these crimes. Now you can be sure tens of millions want to be next.

It happened then too. It’s just that if you lived in Lexington, KY you weren’t likely to hear about such an incident that occurred in Tulsa, OK.
Now, with the prevalence of social media, countless 24 hour news channels, and thousands of “true crime” podcasts, it is very likely you will.
There is a regular poster on here who was molested and kidnapped by his karate teacher in the 80’s, and whose dad killed the teacher in the airport while news cameras rolled. If you weren’t from Baton Rouge or Louisiana, there is a decent chance you didn’t hear about it when it happened
