Imagine everything is going great in life, you're sitting on the couch relaxing watching tv and in an instant it feels like you can't breath and you're having a heart attack. It's real and terrifying for some people.

Dude, I’ve felt that, and sometimes in situations that warranted it. I’ve used meds and yoga and exercise and counseling to get through it. I could get back there tomorrow and check out, legitimately claiming anxiety, if I left those habits behind.

Before COVID my dad would insist on going to the ER at least once every couple months cause he felt like “something was really wrong”. Each time the same thing…they couldn’t find anything wrong and maybe gave him a dose of something to calm him down. No matter how many times I would I try to tell him the ER can’t fix his anxiety he would still insist on going.
One good thing about COViD is I was able to use that to convince him to not go to the ER. They wouldn’t allow any of us to be there with him and he was terrified of getting COVID (rightfully so as he had numerous other medical issues on top of his mental illness).
