Good news is one of our weaknesses has been not playing Perkins enough.
I don’t think it’s that simple. Kiffin, as much as any coach and with so much film, can probably pick out a tendency of Perkins’ that he’s shown so far and use that to bait him into overcommitting and getting sucked up somewhere and getting the ball to where he’d be (running or passing). So we’d need to recognize that tendency of his too and say, “Harold, this is what you tend to do when you see this look—you commit just a little too early—and this is how they’re probably gonna beat you out today this formation by baiting you into doing…whatever.”
Having tendencies can actually really be to your advantage if you can recognize them in time and correctly predict how the other team will try to exploit them. Or does Ole Miss see a particular tendency of ours and try to exploit it, or do they expect we will see it too and adjust? Do they game plan around what we’ve been showing thinking we’ll keep doing it, or do they predict how we’ll adjust once we notice it ourselves and game plan towards that?
It’s like the scene in “The Princess Bride” with Wesley and the poisoned cup(s) and the bald dude who keeps trying to work out 4 or 5 moves ahead how he thinks Wesley would have thought and where he would have placed the poisoned cup and keeps changing his mind.

And it's not so much about tendencies in general though that definitely comes into play more than a little bit when Kiffin is the bad guy making the calls.
It's about Coaching every kid up so they execute their assignments on every play and that includes what they might see to get them to abandon their responsibilities.
Perkins is so talented that there are times (prolly many) he could abandon his responsibilities and go make a successful play but even less competent Coaches than LK will eventually take advantage of him (or any other player) "leaving his post".
Being able to take the Coaching on to the field and executing properly is usually not something younger players can do with any consistency. It is insane that Geaux Tigers have 3 true freshman capable of playing/executing at such a high level.
Saturday will be a huge test for all three.
