If you’re a mom/dad who has a kid who loves Hulk, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc, it’s fun for them to see you wearing what they think is awesome. Personally I prefer to usually just wear around the house. Lots of parents reach a point where they just don’t care to be out in public with it on. They can definitely be worn without being a total weirdo

This obviously acceptable if it's with your kids and having fun. But grown men without kids wearing it, is a little weird it seems, but to each their own.
