CBK took over a program that was as dead as any program that was given the NCAA Death Penalty. LSU's football program was practically dead.
CBK has done a great job so far.

Kelly would have Notre Dame at one loss, maybe. Ohio state is it good this year but Freeman did have them pretty close so you never know.
Notre Dame made a big mistake by promoting within,? Freeman may end up being great but there are so many nuances to creating an entire business basically. The players love freeman and that’s cool but does he have the experience to put together the people that coordinate ask the recruiting trips, the chef, a great trainer (Kelly hit as home run getting the current guy at LSU, you can just tell this team is in ridiculous shape and I love the statistics they are using), the compliance people, the study hall, I mean this is so complicated and then you have to know football and hope the assistants you’re hiring are teaching good technique and able to formulate a gameplan.
People have no idea how much goes into a head football coach, LSU is extremely lucky to get Kelly and the best part is he seems to really be enjoying his time here and I would love for him to be extremely successful and have him finish his career at this school. He would be hitting stride when Saban retires and we may be seeing the golden years ahead!
