British Airways vs American 1st class

Planning a trip to London and will be using AA miles. Booking through the AA app it costs significantly fewer miles for the BA flight compared to AA. Any downside to having one leg of the trip on BA? Which has a better 1st class product? Would either be AA dfw to lhr or BA ord to lhr

Never mind…just realized that it is a lot fewer miles, but the fees are significantly higher with BA. Will stick with AA

Yeah, BA taxes the ever living shite out of you. Mostly fuel.

LHR is more guilty for the taxes than the airline, not that it matters. It doesn't matter which airline you end up booking through, you'll be on the same flight so book the one that's more cost effective (I assume you're flying direct). You can add your AA number to your BA booking and vice versa if you have status with one or the other regardless of who you book through.
