It is almost certain that some players would not like a coach that did not recruit them and who is going about changing the culture of the program. I guarantee you that every coach in his first year has this same type of "fondness" from his new players.

Nick Saban said this about his first year at Alabama, "When I came here, change was inevitable, but the growth of everyone was optional." He is saying that not all will follow his way. You can't force them to follow you.

If those that buy in to the new coach become leaders in the program, they will snuff out those that don't.

This is normal and exactly what we want to happen if we are going to see the program turn around.
