A silver lining on the surface perhaps for you and others who can now "remote in" to work. But generally speaking, this drastic shift to virtual "officing" wreaked havoc on small businesses and commercial properties. And these seemingly isolated economic repercussions will affect you in one form or another.

Bogues Restaurant in Birmingham, a landmark for a good southern breakfast for generations of Birminghamians, closed last month.

The owner specifically said he never recovered from the economic impact of the COVID-1984 shutdowns.

The McDonalds just down the street seems to be doing fine.
