Alabama's best offensive lineman, starting running back and starting receiver are all transfers, Eli Ricks was a freshman All-American and transferred away from LSU. Caleb Williams is a Heisman candidate and Jordan Addison might win the Biletnikoff, both transfers. Hendon Hooker was a transfer, as was Jaxson Dart. Those are all elite players.

4,000 plus kids enter the transfer portal each year. Over half remain unsigned, or stay where they were. You listed 5 kids... and with the exception of Addison, all were under new coaching regimes.
My point still stands. The overwhelming majority of the kids in the portal are 2nd tier kids on 2nd tier teams.
