Good lord those little guys don’t have a chance. Not a knock on Heard but how did he look in the camps? I guess seeing Campbell and Jones last year we got kinda spoiled that they were elite coming out high school I just don’t see the explosion out of Heard that I saw out of those two. Now listen I am sure I will get downvoted but this my own opinion and mine only.

This is only Heard’s second season playing OT, so he is by no means a finished product.

From what I’ve seen and read, ZH is currently better as a run blocker (“drive blocker”) compared to pass pro - which is to be expected considering his limited experience playing the position. IMO, Heard probably won’t be a year one (1) starter like Campbell & Jones - but I look forward to him potentially starting in year two (2), along with Campbell, Jones, & possibly F. West at Center.

All that said, Heard has all the tools to be an elite OT - not only in college but potentially in the NFL. Heard is a legit 6’5.5” w/ 36” arms & approximately 300 lbs. - those are measurable‘s consistent with first round draft picks in the NFL

Agreed. Haven't seen a lot of him but he did look a little stiff in PP from the video and others I've seen. I think he's gonna be a good one tho. Can't wait to see him play in P&G.

Heard is a lot more raw than Campbell. Will Campbell was as polished and ready to play as a freshman OT as you'll ever see.

Jones is a little bit more raw than Campbell, but still looking at early PT.

Heard is a physical prototype for an OT, but very raw playing the position. Luckily the two OT spots are taken for the next 3 years . I'm sure he'll start his career at LSU playing guard then move to OT once Campbell gets drafted in the first round and Jones moves to LT.

No, you're right. I was just reading through to see if anyone had the stones to post that.
Campbell and Jones were like 2 one-offs in the same year... spoiled us all. I liked Jones at least as much as Campbell and got some shite for that. Meh.
Footwork on a couple of passes showed he's taking some coaching on to the field which is important.
Size tools are definitely there, he just looks to me like a guy who gets some snaps Soph season and can be counted on to start RT Jr. year. Maybe with a red shirt.
Absolutely, no slouch! Apparently, he's learning fast so hopefully he'll be ahead of my time frame.
You also have to consider who CBK/CBD will be bringing in. I gotta think it's reasonable to expect a minimum 3 of top 10 OL recruits in the country every year from here on in.
