No witness to the shooting. Gun has likely been sold or tossed. Doesn’t seem to be any video evidence. Doesn’t matter if the reward is $1 million, without evidence no one will be convicted. It’s sad, and hearing that opinion will anger some people, but it’s pretty clear it’s a dead end. Family will never see justice.
Cops, DA, local media, politicians and the general public apathetic toward heinous crime. Oh well, nothing to see here. Move along.
Pathetic

Sorry, it’s a sad reality. You can arrest a person this afternoon with the murder weapon in his possession, but without any evidence linking him to the crime he’ll walk. Unless they’re holding back something important, they don’t appear to have an eyewitness or video evidence. If they were able to get prints or dna from the spent cartridges, you still can’t place them at the scene of the crime.
Solving cases like this often involve lots of luck. Little over 3 years ago a student at South Carolina mistakenly got into a car after partying, thinking it was the Uber she’d called, and disappeared. Only evidence they had was video of her getting in the car.
Guy brutally murdered her, drove over 70 miles away and dumped her body in the woods in a remote area. Luckily some turkey hunters found her body the next day or so, if not there’s no telling how long before she was found.
Police at least had video of the car, stopped him a couple nights later trolling the same area. Car was full of her blood, he still had her cellphone, and they found his dna on her. Easy conviction.
Family was lucky, they at least got closure. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see the La girl’s family getting that same closure. It’s sad, they truly have my greatest sympathy, but unless police get extraordinarily lucky they’re never going to get a conviction, much less even charge someone. It isn’t like watching a tv show, random murders go unsolved all the time.
