Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots.
The chorus. Specifically the end of each line (“…you lied”…”go by…”. I hear something, but lack the knowledge to know or even say what it is or even describe it.

I think you're hearing them punch up the doubled (or harmony vocals) at that point in the mix. I don't think it is any more complicated than that other than they might be doing it with some of the instrumentation at those same points.

They've had a history of bringing up harmony/backing vocals. This song is a good example/ I think the song is about Courtney Love
