Seville is also fun - the tapas scene is pretty similar to Mardid, and you can do a day trip to Tangiers, though that requires renting a car to drive to the coast.

Planning on doing Spain and Portugal next year the wife and I will probably do 10 days. Great info in here already and everyone planning this trip soon please update.

Any tapas/food recommendations in Seville. I will be there in an hour. Surprised by the wife with a bit of an unplanned detour. Mostly looking to eat and drink our way through town over the weekend.
