He WAS making big plays running the ball.
The problem is, that type of offense is not sustainable over the long course. At least not in any successful way. If 6-6, 7-5 is your objective, then O.K., but then you still have to be concerned about his health and even making it through the season.

As I was screaming at my TV, if that's the kind of player he wants to be, make him a running back and get a quarterback in there that knows how to play the position.

That’s exactly the issue. It’s awesome that he did what he did running, but things will get one dimensional and hence predictable real quick like that. He’s gotta break out of that comfort zone even though it’s functional at present because at least 3-4 SEC teams will shut that shite down.
