Play #1 wasn’t a slant. It was a curl & out. Slightly slower developing, but could have scored if he got it out. The defender was essentially on him immediately after Boutte was out of his break. Needs to have better recognition there and be able to stand in.

Play #2 I’m torn on. He’s on the left outside hash with pressure coming from the right. Both Bech & Boutte are far on the right side of the field. That’s a tough low percentage throw to make, especially on 2nd & 18. He got 12 or so yards making the 3rd down manageable, which we converted. I’d like to see him be able to make that throw there to Boutte as we were missing explosive plays, but Denbrock/Kelly could discourage that one as well. Hard to say
