I was hoping after having watched Florida throttle Kentucky yesterday that perhaps Florida had just put it all together and we caught playing them at a bad time. Well, one of those two appears to have been right.

Florida does in fact seem to have put it all together, but LSU is showing major problems on both sides of the ball. My biggest concerns are obvious:

1. The defense--way too much talent to look that God awful. And I do mean they looked absolutely God awful.

2. Quarterbacks--if Jarrett Lee cannot improve anymore than that in big game situations, then why in the world doesn't Miles give Jordan Jefferson a chance? Give all the freshmen a chance at taking thier "lumps."

Nope, wasn't a fluke at all. Looks like we're going back to SEC mediocrity like we were for decades before Saban. We knew it couldn't last forever.

I don't see mediocrity in LSU's future, not by a long shot. I am willing to give the QBs slack for the year, even though it is painful to watch. But if Miles doesn't hire a new DC at the end of this year, then I do see very systemic, long term problems for our tigers!!

For God's sakes Les, please hire a reputable DC.

Are you kidding? It started before the arse beating yesterday. We're already losing recruits, and probably lost another one during the game yesterday

That's real classy.

Say what you wish, but if you don't think there are real problems after watching that last night then you need to take the purple and gold glasses off. Ignoring the problems won't make them go away.

Trying to redshirt JJ..bring stability again to QB position like we had with Russel Flynn and RP, and JL... Now we have JL, a Harvard transfer who can run, and JJ...

Our QB situation is bad for right now, but it will be greatly improved by the end of "next season"... long way to go

Losing RP cost us two years in reps and game experience.

Miles just needs a great DC, the OC hire is great, I love Gary Crowton... Once we get the QB thing settled, we will rise back to the top again

This coming from the guy who gets more "F" offs than anyone else in the history of TD?

I agree with you APEX...I think Crowton is a great OC--though the pass play at the end of the first half still has me scratching my head.

I understand the stability angle as well, but the defensive coordinator slot has to be taken care of. No excuses for the busted coverages and the like with the studs we have on the defense.

You can't blame a DC when he has to play a better opponent. You can be the best X's and O's guy in the world, it won't stop the better team

Really? Because you are of the opinion that Georgia had significantly better personnel than LSU? Give me a break.

Tigers need you on the field. What position do you play?

Because noting problems from the game is just not permitted?

Okay, to make the rest of you happy:

1. The running game looked good.

2. D. Byrd's catch and subsequent run to the two yard line (forgive me for not remembering what quarter) was a phenomenal play.

3. R. Alem looks to be a new leader on the defense.

4. Colt David breaking K. Faulk's scoring record was a good story.

Plenty of bright spots, plenty of bleak ones. Take the game as a whole or just look at one side if you wish.
