Rick Neuheisal was talking about this on his show last week. Said as a HC you know very soon but want them competitive and thinking they don’t know.

Anyone that thinks a HC doesn’t know a week before a game is crazy

One QB will start, both will play, at least for the next several games. LSU is not getting through all season with just one QB starting, the SEC is too tough for a running QB to make it through a whole season.

I agree with this. Coaches know there's a difference between practices and games.

Look at LSU's own history... Josh Booty consistently outperformed Rohan Davey in practice. That's why he played ahead of him for over a season. Rohan got on the field in live games, and it became apparent he was a different animal when the lights were on.

People are overstating this. The SEC is good, but it's not the NFL.

And honestly, a good mobile/running QB can win in the NFL, too. The problem is, he won't hold up over time; but we're talking multiple seasons, not games. Running QBs are broken about the time they hit 30, while pocket QBs are just entering their prime at that age. You want Drew Brees instead of Michael Vick, because Brees will be your QB a decade after Vick retires.
That is NOT an issue in college, you only have Daniels for 2 more years at the most.
